About the Volume
The 14th World Socialism Forum was held in Beijing on September 9-10, 2024 around the theme “Current changes in our world, our era, and our history” and addressed the possibilities for furthering the cause of socialism around the world.
There were over 200 delegates from China, Australia, Bangladesh, Brazil, Britain, Cameroon, Cuba, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Hungary, Iraq, Italy, Japan, Laos, Lebanon, Nepal, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Syria, Uruguay, Vietnam and Zambia.
Keynote speakers included Zhen Zhanmin (Vice President of CASS), Cheng Enfu (Former President of the Academy of Marxism) and Zhang Weiwei (Dean of the China Institute at Fudan University).
In addition to the seminars and dialogues at the two-day forum, delegates had also visited East China’s Fujian Province and Southwest China’s Guizhou Province for academic and cultural exchanges. The present volume, published in English (to be followed by another in Italian), collects part of the Proceedings, selected by the Working Group of the World Socialism Research Center and Academy of Marxism.
